Many of our CHAMPS students stayed quite busy over the summer...! NSLC, or National Student Leadership Conference is a pre college event that takes place in various institutions promoting leadership, trust, and further studies into a selected topic such as International Diplomacy, National Security, and Psychology. Genna Weinstein, a student at CHAMPS, participated in the International Diplomacy program at The American University this summer, in Washington D.C. During her visit, she had the opportunity to visit the U.S. Institute of Peace, the Saudi Arabian Embassy, and hear from the Vice President of the United States, as well as shake his hand. Genna visited the UN headquarters in New York, as well as participated in a mock-security council simulation. Besides participating in a variety of leadership sessions, she later personally met with congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton to further an independent research project she is pursuing.
