Use the Trip Planner on the METRO.net web site to get the exact bus or rail details whether you're leaving from Santa Monica, the West Side, or just around the Valley.
We have also been advised by several families that there is a fairly new express bus from North Hollywood that might be helpful for families from that area. It only operates part of the day. It's route 902, and starts at the Metro North Hollywood Station (where the Orange Line starts), goes down Burbank Blvd., stopping ONLY at Valley College/Fulton Ave. and Van Nuys Blvd, then turns north onto Van Nuys, where it makes multiple stops, including Vanowen. In the afternoon, the first bus can be picked up across the street from Champs at 3:50, and it retraces the route back. It makes multiple stops on Van Nuys Blvd., but once it turns onto Burbank, it stops only at Fulton and North Hollywood Station. This bus would save a lot of time and money, since you don't have to pay to transfer to a second bus.
