Erfan (Air Fawn) Marks has a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Deaf Studies and a Master’s of Arts degree in
Special Education, emphasis in Educational Therapy from California State University Northridge. Her Master’s Thesis was based on phonemic awareness, correlating the link between rhyming and reading comprehension. She has written a children’s books, Emmie and Me; an interactive multi-modality book using phonemic awareness through interactive rhyming patterns to teach and build on students’ knowledge.
Her experience in the field of education spans over a 20 year period as an educator, working with students with special needs as a classroom teacher, at a Non Public School, home schooling educational specialist, and an educational therapist. She has experience as an assistant principal of an elementary/middle school program, which served students with emotional disturbances as well as a principal of an elementary/middle school program, which served students with Autism. She has also been practicing as an educational therapist since 2001, and a current member of the Association of Educational Therapists. She volunteers at her children's school, various organizations such as Our House Grief Support Center.
