Mission Statement

The Special Education Department at CHAMPS Charter High School will work as a cohesive team to provide an individualized education plan and a foundation that enables students to critically and actively think, communicate and create. We also encourage lifelong learning, promote the acceptance of unique differences, and provide knowledge and support to staff, families, and community.

 

 How does CHAMPS provide supports to students with IEPs?

CHAMPS is a general education, diploma track school and services students with the collaborative model. Teachers with credentials in special education provide services in the general education classroom, co-teach classes and consult and collaborate with general education teachers.

 

Does CHAMPS have Special Day Classes (SDC)?

CHAMPS believes in inclusion and at this time, we do not have a special day class.

 

What kind of resources are available?

CHAMPS provides a variety of resources and supports, such as occupational and speech therapy, academic counseling, college counseling, etc. dependent on your child’s unique needs.

 

What types of special need students do you service?

We have a very diverse student demographic. We service students with the eligibilities of Autism Spectrum Disorder, Speech Delays, Specific Learning Disabilities, Orthopedic Impairments, etc.
