About Panther Cross Country:

Cross Country at CHAMPS was started in the Fall 2008 with a small group of kids meeting at 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The first sport in school history. The purpose of Cross Country is to expose the students at CHAMPS to a level of competitive running comparable to any other traditional sport team. We have built a program as good as any other in the San Fernando Valley. Our student athletes are committed, hard working and take pride in wearing the Purple and Black of CHAMPS Charter HS Panthers.
What is XC (Cross Country)? High school, distance-running sport involving venturing across a variety of surfaces. Races consist of a three-mile course that “crosses the country side.” Surfaces include but are not limited to asphalt, concrete, and grass, dirt, sand and turf. Taking place at local parks, beaches, schools and mountains. It is a grueling and challenging sport that truly tests the body both mentally and physically.
