Dance and Pilates Educator (Contemporary 1-4; Intro to Dance; Movement and Body Awareness)
Melody was first inspired to dance as a child while coloring in the corner of the dance studio, while her mother, dressed in a flashy neon leotard and leg warmers, did jazz runs across the floor. Her mom never fulfilled her dance goddess dreams, but became one of the top female bodybuilders in the world, and raised 3 dancers, and one engineer.
Melody attended Hollywood High Performing Arts Magnet under the mentorship of Keny Long. At 14, she was the youngest student accepted into the prestigious Los Angeles’ Moro-Landis Scholarship/Work-Study Program, where she danced and performed with some of LA’s leading choreographers. In 2002, Melody graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a Bachelors in Business Administration and minor in Dance Performance. At LMU she had the opportunity to dance in pieces set by Janet Eilber and Sarah Swenson and choreographed for numerous faculty and student dance concerts Melody studied internationally in 2001, with the LMU dance department in Paris, France and participated in the Montpellier Dance Festival. She is an original company member of Meh-Tropolis Dance Theater based out of LMU and has performed with companies such as Vox Dance Theater.
Melody was certified in the Pilates Method in 2002. Melody has taught at various studios throughout Los Angeles, including Pilates Studio City and Glendale Adventist Medical Center. Melody has had the great experience working with a clientele of all backgrounds and abilities, including athletes, dancers, seniors, and teens for fitness, health, and rehabilitative needs. Melody is a certified "Burn at the Barre" and "DIO" instructor! She is also CPR/First Aid Certified.
