Kaleesha Washington

Kaleesha Washington is a native Angeleno, having attended Los Angeles Southwest College and the University of Southern California as an undergraduate, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science (double-majored). She went on to earn a Master of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Loyola Marymount University, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Keller Graduate School of Management. She began her career as an educator by way of Teach For America, and is beginning her 13th year as an educator. She has taught elementary school, middle school, high school, and graduate school, and she has spent the last four years in school administration. As a middle school science teacher, she earned the Ocean Science Leadership Award from COSEE (Consortium for Ocean Science Exploration and Engagement) West and the Quiksilver Foundation. As an administrator, she earned the Dream All-Star Award from the Sacramento Kings and Wells Fargo for being an outstanding African American community leader. She is excited to bring her talents and experiences to CHAMPS Charter High School to serve the community as Assistant Principal of Instruction and Curriculum.
