CHAMPS Charter High School of the Arts offers a push-in model through our Special Education Department. This means that we do not focus on pulling students out of classes for special education services but rather providing support services in the classroom. We provide support to students who have an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or a 504 Plan. Support services vary depending on the unique and individual needs of each student.
Course Code: 6001
Grade Levels: 9-12
Semesters: 2
Prerequisite: Recommendation
This course is defined through two core components. The first is the traditional approach of discovering various methods and strategies that will help students strengthen the skills needed to excel in school. Students will investigate topics such as note-taking, time management, test preparation, test-taking strategies, and homework management. The second component is designed to encourage students to think critically about the purpose of education and what role it plays in their lives as well as others.
